mtvshuga's latest episode of ShugaNaija premiered last night and, as with every previous episode, there were major twists and turns that affected every character in the show.

This time around, we witness two possible fatalities and see more drama unfold in Princesses’ and Tobi’s relationship. On the positive side, Weki and Bikiya’s relationship gets stronger as he finally tells her what he’s been so afraid to say for so long.

About to watch the latest MTV Shuga Naija episode that premiered on Sunday. Music has always played a huge role in the series, providing both a hip soundtrack and adding extra fodder to the storyline of various episodes.
In Shuga’s first out-of-Nairobi installment, the cast is made up of someone who we’ve gotten used to seeing behind the camera not as an actress, but as a singer.
Tiwa Savage forms part of the series main cast and in last week’s episode, we saw her get quite a bit of screen time. But what do you think - is she better as an artist, or can she cut it too as an actress?

Did you watch this week’s episode of MTV Shuga? What do you think of the series so far?

There’s a shocking revelation in Episode 4 of MTV Shuga this week, at least one that I never saw coming after catching up on episode 2 and 3 over the weekend.

Watch to find out what it is!

Oh yes! There is so much juice and drama packed into this short promo clip for the third season of MTV’s original young adult drama ‘Shuga’ that I am so ready, more than ever now, for it to premiere on our screens on December 1st on MTV Base.

The first two seasons of the series were set in Kenya’s capital city, and former childhood home of mine, Nairobi, but this time around Shuga follows the return of a season 2 character, Femi, as his presence back in West Africa’s number hustle city Lagos stirs up a lot of drama - old and new.

And, in case you didn’t already know, you can keep up with MTV: Shuga on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.

One of my favourite TV shows - and arguably one of the best television programs to be produced on the continent in the past ten years - MTV Shuga is now on tumblr!

For those of you that need a brief introduction to the series that’s currently in it’s third season, MTV Shuga is a hard-hitting drama that follows the lives of young people in various urban African settings - first Nairobi and now Lagos - as they experience the highs and lows of love, sex, relationships, family, hustle and ambition.

Oh, and it’s also the show that broadcast the talents of Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o to households across Africa.

SHUGA: Love, Sex, Money (@MTVShuga), the African sex-and-relationships drama from MTV Staying Alive, PEPFAR, the Partnership for an HIV-Free Generation (HFG) and UNICEF, has won a prestigious edutainment award. The TV and radio drama, produced by MTV Base and directed by award winning South African directors Angus Gibson and Teboho Mahlatsi (The Bomb Shelter, won the Best Overall Edutainment award at the Edutainment Africa Awards (EAA) held in Kampala, Uganda on World Aids Day (1 December 2012).

Shuga: Love, Sex, Money, which addresses head-on issues such as promiscuity, transactional sex and rape within the family – all in a modern African context - was recognised by the judges for its “constructive role in educating and entertaining society”.

Shuga: Staying Alive - Episode 1

The final episode of MTV Base Africa’s Shuga: Love, Sex, Money series aired this week putting a wrap on this season’s shows. As we impatiently wait for the next installment of Shuga, we thought it’d be a good idea to go back in time a little to see how it all began.

Shuga: Love, Sex, Money - Episode 5.
