Trailer for Kenyan filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu’s 2008 drama “From A Whisper”

Written and directed by Kahiu, the film is based on real events that occurred during the 1998 bombings of the US Embassy in Nairobi. Despite the backdrop of these attacks, the film intimately follows the lives of two individuals whose paths cross and are linked by the fatal events that took place in 1998.

The film received 12 nominations and won 5 awards at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2009, including Best Picture, Best Original Soundtrack, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and AMAA Achievement in Editing.
