In 2010, popular Malian musical collective Tinariwen headed to Tassili n’Ajjer, an Algerian national park, to record their fifth album.
This near-15 minute footage gives us a glimpse into the record-making behind-the-scenes process of the band’s studio sessions in Algeria for their album, Tassili, named after the park.
Tassili is the band’s only album to be recorded outside of a major city. Previous albums have been recorded in Paris, France and Bamako, Mali.
