OLYMPIC FOCUS: Abdelhafid Benchabla
Abdelhafid Benchabla, born September 26, 1986 in Zemmouri, is an Algerian boxer and the current World Series of Boxing Light heavyweight champion.
Benchabla is also amongst a total of eight Algerian boxers who have qualified for and will be taking part in the London Olympics this year.
This isn’t the first time the 25-year-old has made it to the Olympics. He represented his country at the 2008 Beijing Olympics after winning the gold medal at the at the AIBA African Olympic Boxing Qualifying Tournament 2008.
