The instillation piece “Water” by artist Yinka Shonibare sits on display inside the main tents at Frieze Art Fair on Randall’s Island, Thursday May 03, 2012.
London’s Frieze Art Fair has long been one of the most popular contemporary art fairs in Europe. Now, New York is hosting its first Frieze fair on Randall’s Island. The fair connects uptown and downtown art scenes, and could be a serious competitor to the Armory Show.
ETA: Not sure when Shonibare made this but did this get anyone thinking about the recent news of UK-sponsored scientists discovering vasts amount of water underneath Africa?
